The first official #VIEWDAY launched on Monday, April 27, and went through Friday, May 1 with different positions each day. It was a rousing success in it’s first week. A few technical hiccups along the way but nothing that hindered the viewing experience for coaches across the country. From Power 5 to D-III, multiple coaches from all over tuned in to scout potential recruits.

There were multiple student-athletes who made coaches’ recruiting boards and even some who earned offers from their #VIEWDAY performance. With no junior days, official visits, or camps as of right now, this virtual showcase is something coaches are looking for and fully support. It’s a chance to evaluate a players athleticism, flexibility, quick twitch muscles, and frame, without pads on, and develop a better understanding of each athlete’s potential and how they can be used in a particular system.

Student-athletes are able to get feedback from TYGTAL’s scouts and from the college coaches (anonymously) after their position’s showcase. Prior to each showcase, rosters of participants are sent out to all the coaches registered with TYGTAL (200+ colleges) so they can begin watching their film, evaluating their athletic profile, and watching their 1-on-1 interviews with ESP.

Every drill conducted & question asked during a #VIEWDAY Showcase are things that have been recommended from college coaches themselves.

The 1-on-1 interview displays an athlete’s character, their mentality off the field, and communication skills. Being interviewed and dealing with the media is as much a part of the college athletes experience as anything else. The earlier they learn how to engage the media, the easier it will be at the next level as well.
